| Kilden til oplysningerne er Kathy Abrams i USA. Hun er som er tipoldebarn af Anton Leonhardt Franch som udvandrede til USA i 1892. Kathy Abram 21240 - 496th Lane McGregor, MN 55760 USA Phone 218-426-0100 Niels Christian Leonhardt Franch had 5 children: - Jorgine (Gina) b. August 13, 1867 in Vinding d. April 17, 1950 m. July 26, 1890 to Niels Bjerre Nielsen. They lived in Denmark. - Mary All we know about Mary is that she came to America and lived in Wisconsin. She had a daughter who died young. - Anton Leonhard Franch b. June 6, 1873 in Silkeborg. d. October 23, 1954, Aitkin, Minnesota. m. November 19, 1897 in Northfield, Minnesota to Nielsena Christine Nielsen b. June 10, 1878 in Uth, Denmark d. October 18, 1968 in Hastings, Minnesota. Anton and his brother Johannes both immigrated at about the same time, and both changed their last names to Lindhart. Anton was known as Frank Lindhart. Anton and Sena had ten children, 9 girls and 1 boy. There is only one child still living. They were all the nicest people you could every know, which is one reason why the family remains so close knit even now. As I said before, we have a family reunion here in Minnesota every year. The next one is September 21st. They are going to be thrilled when I tell them I've found relatives in Denmark! - Johannes Leonhard Franch b. June 12, 1876 in Silkeborg d.March 24, 1958 in California m. Mary Jane (last name unknown) in Denmark. They had 6 children, the first three were born in Denmark. I don't know why, but somewhere a long time ago there was a falling out between Anton and Johannes, and we have never had contact since with him or his family. I have tried to make contact with no luck. What I know about them is what I have found in my research. - Christiane b. May 7, 1879 in Silkeborg d. November 1926 m. 1898 to Jens G. Jensen. They immigrated and lived in Massachusetts. They had seven children. Most of what I know of them is through letters between my grandmother and one of those seven children. That is how I learned the story about the family name being changed from Franch to Lindhart. Then one of my cousins was able to research the microfilm from the Mormons to find Niels and Inger Franch and their children in Denmark before any of them had immigrated, and verify the story. Our whole family think they're nearly 100% Danish. Wait until they find out there's a lot of German in them, too! |
